Despite its tremendous impact on page quality scores, Google E-E-A-T itself is not a full-fledged ranking factor—at least not yet. For Google YMYL topics, a website or creator’s reputation is heavily influenced by the number of mentions from industry experts. To encourage more people to share personal experiences on search, Google launched a new opt-in experiment in Search Labs called Notes. It clarified the YMYL classification (Clear YMYL, May Be YMYL, or Not or Unlikely YMYL). E-E-A-T parameters are especially important for YMYL content, which has a direct impact on people’s health, well-being, and safety.
