Job Description

The Training & Communications Specialist will consult with client leaders and business partners to identify critical accessibility learning gaps and recommend the best learning solution to support business unit objectives and enterprise-wide initiatives aligned with client's learning model and enterprise accessibility strategy.

Primary Purpose:

  • Collaborate enterprise-wide with operational and learning community partners including Talent Development and HR Business Partner teams to understand organizational / department learning needs and support the development of strategy-focused immersive learning plans.
  • Partner with talent development, the enterprise learning community and subject matter experts to curate, validate, and develop content and learning resources, tools, and self-directed content to support enterprise strategy and goals.
  • Measure effectiveness of learning solutions and programs.
  • Serve as learning subject matter expert to provide advanced knowledge of design programs, principles, development standards, techniques, and methodologies and apply each, ensuring a positive learner/customer experience and alignment with client's overall strategy and culture.
  • Responsibilities:

  • Manage awareness content creation/calendar and cross-channel distribution.
  • Write and edit awareness and training content.
  • Create presentations for live training events.
  • Maintain a uniform editorial style to support the client brand and guiding principles.
  • Develop cohesive communication strategies for company-wide initiatives; produce effective and timely deliverables.
  • Coordinate, plan and manage onsite training and awareness events at client locations.
  • Ensure posts and other digital content and trainings are accessible.
  • Consult and collaborate with accessibility program leaders to identify learning needs, gaps and updates or enhancements to existing plans. Conduct needs analysis on strategic requests and recommend the best learning solutions to support business objectives in alignment with client strategy.
  • Design and use quantitative and qualitative methods and metrics to measure, evaluate and analyze the effectiveness of training programs and/or immersive learning plans to ensure objectives are achieved.
  • Oversee the development of reference materials, support tools and leader resources that reinforce strategic learning.
  • Serve as a lead liaison between different internal teams (when appropriate)
  • Remain current with industry learning best practices and technical, product and program enhancements.
  • Participate in or manage multiple large-scale and/or cross- divisional/departmental projects and programs.
  • Partner with L&TD's Vendor Partnership team to identify opportunities to source shared vendor relationships, platforms or content.
  • Conduct needs analysis on strategic requests; identify learning gaps and recommend the best learning solutions to support business objectives in alignment with client strategy.

  • Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Instructional Technology, Human Resources, business, communication, behavioral sciences, Program Management or related field or the equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
  • Interest in learning accessibility barriers and how people with disabilities experience digital content, accepted patterns as well as the tools and techniques to identify accessibility issues
  • Awareness of accessibility standards and policies (e.g., WCAG 2.0 (A & AA), ARIA, ADA, Section 508, 21st Century Video and Communications Act, etc.)
  • Awareness of assistive technology (e.g., screen readers, magnifiers, alternative input, etc.)
  • Expertise in one or more of the following: communications, program management and evaluation, learning science, communications, instructional design, organizational development and/or extensive experience designing, developing, and implementing training.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, adapt quickly and exhibit effective communication skills to all levels of leadership.
  • Willingness to learn, use a growth mindset and combine theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on application.
  • Demonstrated advanced organizational, planning, and project management skills and knowledge.
  • Demonstrated skill in effectively building relationships with and influencing team members, management, vendors, and a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of measuring ROI on learning solutions.
  • Extensive experience in classroom instruction and/or facilitation for individuals or groups
  • Extensive experience in working and participating in cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams and projects.
  • Expert knowledge of instructional theories, educational psychology, educational theory, tools, and resources.
  • Advanced research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Expert skill communicating with all levels within an organization.
  • Expert skill in building strategic and execution-focused plans and alliances with partner leadership.
  • Advanced skill interacting tactfully and effectively in difficult situations.
  • Expert skill to successfully influence, lead and/or guide others towards goals.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills to include speaking and/or presenting in front of groups in a professional setting.
  • Desired Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in, Education, Instructional Technology, Human Resources, business, communication, behavioral sciences, or related field or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
  • Significant experience in multi-media training
  • Experience in communications
  • Experience in conducting needs assessment and analysis for large scale learning solutions.
  • Advanced knowledge of banking/financial industry standards and practices
  • Professional certifications including: International Association of Accessibility Professionals Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC), project management (e.g. PMP), agile, evaluation, instructional design, change management, talent development, and / or learning professional
