Hi, my name is Paula Akemi, the Director of Research at Versett. We are looking for a Senior UX Researcher to join our team. As a member of our global team, you will be working closely with team members and role holders to shape world-class solutions and experiences for our clients. You bring a rigorous focus on the details and user needs without losing sight of the big picture.

At Versett, we have a mission to be the preferred partners of ambitious organizations looking to grow in the modern technology-driven economy. We are a team of tight-knit individuals focused on creating meaningful work collaboratively while continuing to grow and learn as individuals. Our passion for design goes beyond daily work to create a culture of constant learning and growth. You can expect weekly meetups to talk about the latest trends, tools and topics. And you'll have the opportunity to influence and help grow our research practice.

As a Senior UX Researcher, you will take a leading role in research during all stages of creating digital products and services. You have experience running research from end-to-end, especially choosing the right research approach, taking into consideration all the constraints a project may present, and maximizing the impact research can bring. Through collaboration, you'll inspire and mentor other team members in Design, Product, Strategy and Tech and help raise the bar on our UX Research practice. You will be working closely with myself and Lead Researcher Emily Hudson.

We've grown significantly in the past few months and the demand for UX Research is also growing exponentially. We are working towards implementing Research Ops. We don't have all the processes and tools in place yet, and it's why we need you to help shape our research practice. Working in an agency setting also requires you to adapt to different clients and project needs. It's a challenge but it also allows you to expand your knowledge and develop your craft much faster. At Versett, we are proud to work with clients in different stages of digital maturity, both in the private and public sectors – and we help them from Discovery to Prototype and Build, to Launch and Evaluate all the way to change management.

As a champion of UX research and senior member of our growing team, you'll have the opportunity to make a mark, helping our teams learn better and faster. You will also have the opportunity to guide our clients as they scale their research efforts too.

  • Lead research efforts in multiple projects for digital services, apps, and websites
  • Raise the bar in our research efforts, maximizing how our teams learn better and faster

  • Make sure our clients understand the value of research and recommend the right methodology according to needs and constraints

  • Identify future opportunities for research efforts in projects
  • Collaborate with Strategists and Product Managers on Discovery and Service Design projects
  • Guide and teach designers in usability testing efforts (moderated and unmoderated)
  • Help build Versett's Research Ops to scale our research efforts (including processes, tools, learning, advocacy and governance)

  • Mentoring fellow Design, Product and Tech team members

  • What you bring to the table

  • You are a curious person who believes no one does research alone, just as no one does design alone.
  • You have practical experience conducting UX Research for digital products or services.
  • You are comfortable leading research efforts in different stages (Discovery/Generative, Prototype/Formative, Evaluate/Summative).

  • You are an expert in selecting the best mixed methods approach (Quantitative and Qualitative) according to constraints and limitations.

  • You are proficient in research from end to end (plan, execute, analyse, present).
  • You possess strong strategic thinking and an understanding of the project lifecycle, necessary timelines and business challenges.
  • You have experience building templates and frameworks that can be reused to scale research efforts (consent forms, screeners, script, note-taking, presentation decks)
  • You are deeply passionate about conducting research and you are also excited to share your knowledge with team members from Design, Product and Development.

  • You're a hands-on team player

  • Bonus, if you have:

(Full disclosure: we know there's no such thing as a unicorn. We don't expect to find a quality researcher who's fully up on accessibility and can tame content. But if you're passionate about that area, we'd love to know!):

  • You have experience conducting research with people with accessibility requirements OR
  • You have experience in content strategy (SEO, content audit, information architecture)
  • Interviewing at Versett

  • Remote 60-min Portfolio Review + Interview Paula Akemi (Research Director) and Emily Hudson (Research Lead).
  • Remote 90-min Challenge Interview with additional team members

  • Reference check

  • Perks at Versett

  • The hardware/software setup you need
  • A genuinely diverse team and a commitment to inclusion
