Job Description

The Senior Technical Project Manager has the primary responsibility for IT projects specifically around Compute, Network, Storage, Data Protection, Infrastructure, and Information Security, both client and internal IT. The Senior Technical Project Manager creates project plans, manages project requirements, communicates with various technical teams and stakeholders and drives progress towards the project objective. The Senior Technical Project Manager will be managing multiple projects in various stages of delivery.

Essential Job Functions

  • Create project plans and monitor overall project progress and delivery quality
  • Ability to adapt to changes quickly
  • Flexibility to adjust project plans as needed to ensure that projects remain on track
  • Facilitate good communication within the necessary teams
  • Troubleshoot project issues and engage the appropriate resources as needed
  • Escalate any significant issues to the appropriate management team as needed
  • Ensure project compliance with Epsilon's PMO standards
  • Document and track project risks proactively and create mitigation plans for serious risks
  • Negotiate issues resolution in a matrix management environment with multiple priorities
  • Actively prioritize team workload to ensure quality results are delivered on time and within budget
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to team and other team members
  • Assist with creating and maintaining standards with the PMO
  • A continuous improvement mindset and possess the ability to identify areas for improvement in the project management process
  • The Senior Technical Project Manager (PM) should have a 7 to 10 years of direct experience managing IT projects. The Senior Technical PM must be comfortable with managing all aspects of the technology and components related to project delivery. Additionally, the Senior Technical Project Manager must be able to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, problem solve in fast paced environment, and work effectively under significant deadline pressure. Advanced knowledge of Agile, Scrum and Waterfall methodologies required. PMP preferred, but not required. Scrum Master preferred, but not required.

    Relevant technical deployment experience that may include the following:

  • A high-level understanding of different platforms, such as on-prem, cloud, and hybrid
  • Data Center Implementation, migrations and decommissions
  • Unix Server Deployments/Migrations
  • Windows Server Deployments/Migrations
  • Web technologies (e.g., HTML, XML, web services)
  • Email technologies
  • Networking and Telecommunications
  • Information Security (GSO)
  • Data Protection
  • Storage
  • Other Skills, Knowledge, or Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Detail-oriented, able to multi-task and prioritize
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Self-starter with a strong initiative
  • Ability to thrive in a highly matrixed environment while managing multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to negotiate and manage conflict and manage constructive customer concerns
  • Ability to deviate from standard/established methodologies to accomplish dynamic project completion
  • Growing knowledge of technical, business and marketing impact to business activities
  • Familiarity with different infrastructure components; Servers, storage, networking, and security
  • Experience in Agile principles and methodologies, such as Scrum and Kanban
  • Implementing techniques such as sprint planning, backlog management, and continuous integration and delivery
  • Certifications Preferred (Not Required)
