Job Description

The Senior Accountant will work alongside the Director of Accounting and play a key role in completing monthly reporting, variance analysis, contract reviews, reconciliations, and other general ledger tasks. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, balance monthly tasks with various ad hoc projects and accept additional responsibility as required. Other key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the accounting process in both Epsilon's SAP based GL platform, as well as our Hyperion based consolidation tool
  • Preparing journal entries related to Epsilon's close process.
  • Preparing account reconciliations
  • Preparing monthly reporting and investigating any significant fluctuations
  • Assisting in the improvement of internal accounting controls and processes, assistance to auditors, and interaction with other departments regarding applicable matters.
  • Review of multiple element contracts with clients to ensure appropriate revenue recognition under ASC 606.
  • Support management with various ad hoc projects.
  • Maintain best practices, procedures, and processes as necessary to support the business and ensure consistent practices are used throughout the company to maintain the integrity of the system and reporting structure
  • Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or working towards obtaining CPA preferred
  • Auditing experience highly preferred
  • At least 3-5 years of accounting experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of GAAP accounting principles, including understanding of ASC 606
  • Experience with financial systems (SAP, Hyperion, preferred).
  • Strong analytical and research skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well independently and with others.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with associates working remotely.
  • Proficient in Excel and other business applications.
  • Experience working in a public company environment preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple requests by prioritizing and organizing work amongst the team and/or setting and agreeing to appropriate deadlines.
  • Excellent time management.
  • Must be a strong team player, flexible and willing to work overtime when required
