The Marketing Project Manager role within the Project Management Organization
(PMO) will manage multiple marketing campaigns with quality and consistency.
Examples include go-to-market launches, Analyst Relations, Events, Brand, and
product awareness campaigns.
Each marketing campaign will require facilitating cross-functional
communication and reporting on capacity, bandwidth, and other key performance
metrics. In this position, you will coordinate the various marketing
functions, including Creative, Product, Vertical, Operations, Analyst
Relations, Public Relations, and Events, to achieve the campaign goals.
The PMO uses a project management tool (Workfront) to manage campaigns/ team
communication, and experience using a PM tool platform is a plus, but not a
requirement. The role requires training and proficiency with the Workfront
process of layouts, users, forms, and templates and communicating with
stakeholders on marketing deliverables' status and organization.
Work with Marketing, Product, Creative, and Operations members to manage
campaign milestones and projects with creative or operations deliverables
– on time and within budget.
Example: Managing a go-to-market campaign comprising of content pieces across the web, press releases, emails, and social. Or a brand awareness campaign that will include swag and events promotional materials, both print and digital.
Keep the teams focused on achieving the defined goals. Identify scope
creep and solve issues and blockers. Escalate when appropriate.
Example: A project is scoped to require 10 hours of work, but the stakeholders' revisions and additions add hours and complexity above scope. This position requires you to solve blockers independently and/or escalate to leadership when necessary.
Use Workfront templates as a starting point and build milestones, tasks,
and subtasks within an appropriate timeline.
Schedule and marketing campaign status meetings and send follow-up notes
with action items.
Comfortable working with change and ambiguity.
Example: Epsilon Corporate Marketing recently launched a new marketing campaign process and the PMO team was tasked with keeping projects moving forward while guiding team members on the new process, identifying blockers to leadership. You must be comfortable handling these types of situations.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Contribute to the process improvements/ workflows and be an advocate of
the standards and best practices for the PMO. Example: Established
processes need to be adjusted per specific project needs. The PMO often
develops unique workflows or processes to meet the changing needs of our
business. This role requires you to understand and contribute.
