Job Summary
As Performance Marketing Manager, you would be responsible for leading,
developing and executing plans to evolve the acquisition of consumers through
online channels in the U.S. and Canada for Epsilon's Shopper's Voice consumer
survey: www. shoppersvoice.com (USA), www. shoppersvoice.ca (English
Canada), www. lavoixdelacheteur.com (French Canada). The self-reported
survey data is an integral component of the overall Epsilon suite of data
products.
The Manager, Performance Marketing position is within the Epsilon data product
team. We are looking for an individual who takes a consumer-centric approach
and is passionate about doing what's right for consumers and the Shopper's
Voice brand. You are highly analytical and possess strong experience in
managing and analyzing campaign performance, optimizing consumer acquisition
costs and quantities, and A/B testing. You also have a creative flair for
developing ad copy, display ad images, and email marketing.
Success in this role requires critical thinking with a passion for solving
business problems, an effective communicator with experience working with
senior leaders, and team players that want to be part of a collaborative team
and can foster relationships with peers in the organization and third-party
affiliate marketing partners.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and manage the acquisition marketing budget across all performance
marketing channels including Paid Search & Display, Affiliate, Email, and
Paid Social.
Hands-on campaign management:
Google Ads platform: create and manage Google search and display campaigns, set up targeting, manage bids and budget, write ad copy, select and edit images, create keywords, conceive tests to identify new potential growth opportunities within the Google Ads platform. Optimize campaigns to yield the targeted quantities, CPA, and spend.
Develop and manage third-party, affiliate and partner marketing strategy and relationships that drive consumer acquisition within budget.
Research, recruit and manage affiliate marketing companies to drive consumer conversions at a targeted quantity, data quality, and CPA. Meet with vendors on a regular basis to review performance and optimize traffic according to quantity, quality, CPA and spend.
Manage affiliate marketing on platforms such as CJ, Shareasale, and Impact
Manage channel forecasts and budget recommendations, with speed and ownership to adjust tactics and strategies quickly based on learnings and opportunities.
Lead an experimentation roadmap to optimize performance including landing page optimization, A/B testing, new vendors, and new channels.
Work with Data Analyst to track data quality KPIs and optimize campaigns
to improve data quality.
Collaborate with Data Engineering team in setting up surveys for each
campaign source.
Develop and manage consumer retention using blog content and email,
promotions, and other engagement tactics consistent with the brand.
Manage the promotional fulfillment process, including working with legal
team to review sweepstakes rules, and managing third-party vendor in the
sweepstakes fulfillment process.
Manage the consumer-facing Shopper's Voice websites using WordPress.
Be conversant on privacy legislation landscape in US and Canada and how
changes may affect consumer marketing.
Contribute to online survey development such as coordinating proofreading,
translation using a third-party service, and quality assurance testing.
Stay current on new online technologies, channels, trends, and identify
opportunities.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Detailed-oriented, accurate, analytical, and well organized.
3-4 years in one or more online marketing channels (SEM, SEO, email,
display, affiliate, social), preferably in direct response, consumer
marketing or CRM.
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience and knowledge of the Google Ads
platform.
Strong understanding of online consumer behaviour and user experience
design.
Hands-on experience using affiliate marketing platforms such Commission
Junction, Shareasale, Impact etc.
Experience managing conversion optimization tests to identify factors that
lead to higher conversions and/or lower costs, i.e., marketing funnel,
landing pages.
Must have superior knowledge/understanding of basic ROI analysis and is
proactive in proposing improvements or new innovations.
Demonstrated strong project management skills and ability to juggle
multiple projects and priorities.
Experience managing website content using WordPress or other similar
content management systems.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
Proven media negotiation skills.
Quicker starter, demonstrates initiative, and is self-motivated.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with creative, developer and engineering teams in the
support of consumer acquisition
Experience with data management and flows so that you understand how data
is collected, transformed and used
Great appetite to learn and apply new skills and share these learnings,
including training other teams
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and website development process
Working knowledge of French language
Some travel required (3-4 times per year, usually 2-4 days long)
Education and Experience
Degree or diploma in marketing, communications, advertising, media, or
business
