As part of the Audience Analytics team in Analytics Operations, you'll be responsible for developing customized, addressable audiences of users for our diverse set of advertisers. We build optimized audiences that are aligned with Epsilon Digital Media product offerings. Using a combination of data sources, we drive performance for client digital marketing strategies. We develop and execute audience targeting tactics that perform in market and adhere to our corporate data policies. The Audience Analytics team plays a key role in collaborating with our Decision Sciences and Product Management teams to build and guide the development of audience targeting tactics and implementing them.

The Lead Analyst of Audience Analytics is part of a team responsible for managing Epsilon's audience targeting platform and practices. In this role you will:

  • Be an expert of Epsilon Digital Media Services' platform and products
  • Work extensively with Decision Sciences, Data Warehouse, Engineering, Product, Account Management, and other Analytics teams
  • Be the subject matter expert for a subset of products and tools supported by Audience Analytics
  • Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Epsilon Digital Media Services suite of standard and premium audiences
  • Automate existing ad hoc processes into scalable ones using SQL, Python and Airflow
  • Conduct code reviews and provide necessary feedback to ensure error free deliverables that follow the team's best practices which promote code reusability and readability
  • Develop, execute, and automate operational processes including creating, refreshing, deprecating, and troubleshooting audiences
  • Lead projects to improve Epsilon Digital Media Services audience targeting platform or enable new audience targeting tactics
  • Conduct analysis to support business decisions around audience quality and the impact that audiences have on performance
  • Serve as mentor for Analysts and Senior Analysts by leading by example and providing guidance, advice and feedback on both technical and non- technical challenges
  • Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on industry use in SQL, including building tables, functions, views and complex queries
  • 3+ years of experience with a scripting language (Python, R) including creation of reusable functions or libraries
  • Experience with querying optimization and performance tuning
  • Experience with big data ETL and/or data engineering related tasks
  • Experience with task automation such as Airflow or Prefect
  • Familiar with version control such as Git
  • Extremely detail oriented and takes initiative to check data quality and integrity on complex datasets
  • Able to work independently with complex data & business requirements across multiple platforms
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau, etc.) and advanced Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, graphing)
  • Additional Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication, troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Experience building SQL stored procedures, functions, views
  • Knowledge of Python Packages and Libraries
  • Experience building audience targeting products / practice in Ad Tech industry
  • Experience working for a marketing data company or data management platform
  • Knowledge of Hadoop, Jupyter, Linux CMD, Luigi, Kubeflow, Papermill
  • Experience with statistical modeling (preferred, but not required)
  • Experience with sprints and/or Agile development practices
