Hi, I'm Krystyn Harrison, COO at Versett, a global product design and engineering studio. We are looking for an experienced, results-oriented revenue leader to join our team as the Director of Business Development. You will be accountable for new business lead generation, actively prospecting and closing new client partnerships to Versett.

To be successful, you must be a dealmaker. You'll work closely with me and our CEO, Doug, to activate your existing network to develop qualified opportunities. Your work will allow our team to continue to work with ambitious clients on beautiful, innovative products that transform industries.

You must also be a builder and thrive in ambiguity. You are experienced in building a business development team from scratch, coaching and managing them to results. Here you'll lead and grow a team focused on new client acquisition, enabling them with the tools, sales processes and go-to-market approach to grow our business. You will also bring your experience creating MSAs with Fortune 500 clients to improve our sales process.

Accountability:

  • Nurture your existing network and continuously develop new connections with large corporate clients to give Versett the best opportunities for client work.

  • Be a deal maker and build a pipeline of new business opportunities. Find and qualify new companies to sell on partnering with us.

  • Diagnose the client needs and gauge their alignment to the service offered by Versett. Qualify and work side by side with the Client Partnerships team to close qualified opportunities.
  • Conduct market research and stay up-to-date with industry trends to identify new opportunities.
  • Represent Versett at industry events and conferences to build relationships and generate leads. Actively engage with your audience on Linkedin to drive Versett brand awareness.
  • Track and report on sales metrics and provide weekly updates to senior leadership, proactively collaborate with Marketing and Client Partnerships to ensure all steps of the sales process are working effectively together to generate leads, qualify opportunities, and close new deals.
  • Skills and Abilities:

  • You are a connector. You have a solid existing network that spans blue chips to startups that you are ready to engage as Versett clients.
  • You have excellent storytelling (including PowerPoint) and interpersonal skills.
  • You have extensive experience selling professional or agency services to other businesses.

  • You have personally closed at least $1 million+ in sales in a digital agency environment.

  • You have managed a Salesforce instance and understand how to optimize sales tooling, process, and reporting to enable sales effectiveness
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to track and report on sales metrics
  • You have experience shipping a new product from scratch and can empathize with clients making bets on their industry's future. You excel at guiding their decision-making process considering speed, cost, and quality.
  • Must be comfortable working independently, manage yourself to results and build and manage a team, as necessary.

  • You're an outstanding collaborator, you'll be working closely with several leaders across Marketing, Client Partnerships and Delivery.

  • Working Environment:

  • Located in Toronto, Hybrid in office on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Also open to candidates in Vancouver or Calgary.
