SUMMARY

The Data Engineer's role is to interpret the business logic required to turn a complex idea into a sustainable value add process. The Data Engineer ensures the data is usable and viable with near real-time reporting, delivering solutions to the problems presented. The Data Engineer is expected to be an expert of systems. The position will work on cutting edge data technology by being a key contributor on Epsilons analytics initiatives as an expert in this field. The Data Engineer will use their skills as an expert of data structures specific to automotive systems and demonstrate how to turn this data into concrete value-add for the business. On this team a Data Engineer will get the chance to be the expert of data, collaborating with Business Stake Holders, both Data Analysts and Scientists, using all their skills in order to exploit data to drive the business forward. The Engineer pushes the envelope of what is possible in the big data space for streaming live data into a data base/lake; moving data from raw replication, to cleansed, to an aggregated solution for the analytics team to leverage.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Perform the extraction, transformations and loading from the source systems and the data lake to the analytics products using independently developed logic. A specialist of data integration and analytics, bringing the required qualitative and quantitative skills to enable the team. Enhance data maturity and integration for Epsilon products by interacting with operations to standardize the core value-add functionality, enabling a multiplier effect experience working within a collaborative team, coaching more junior members to achieve success. Challenge the status with entrepreneurial innovation in the curation of new data sources elevating analytics beyond data reporting and dashboarding to the delivery actionable insights. Knowledge of the auto business, understanding the complexity of the marketing campaign optimization and the role that data has within this ecosystem.

  • EDUCATION:

  • STEM Bachelor's degree or equivalent. STEM Master's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • LOCATION:

  • Hybrid 2 days in Office, Southfield, MI and Atlanta, GA
  • EXPERIENCE:

    Two (3) years or more experience Applied Project(s) experience: experience in demonstrating, digital transformation, data management in an educational/project. Two (3) years or more experience in data extraction, transformation & loading and agile development. experience working in a cloud environment. Four (4) years or more experience Works in an individual contributor role as a key member of the team that others rely on. preferred SKILLS experience using tools like: ETL tools and Data manipulation tools (SQL) Object oriented development stacks, predictive analytic solutions using predictive analytics tools, Tableau, Unix, YAML, DOMO Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms Support product innovation, working closely with technology throughout the build, test, and release of the product using agile methodologies.
