Job Description

Epsilon's pricing team is responsible for developing and executing pricing strategies that maximize revenue and profitability. They set product and service prices, analyze market conditions, and manage discounts and promotions. This team also collaborates with sales, marketing, and other departments to align pricing with business goals, conducts competitor analysis, and continuously monitors and adjusts pricing strategies to drive financial success. Additionally, they ensure pricing compliance, maintain accurate pricing data, and use technology tools to streamline processes and enhance decision-making. This team is in the process of converting a legacy Excel based process to Oracle CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote).

This position is primarily responsible for systems support and maintenance of the Oracle CPQ tool. This includes acting as an ambassador of the technical support team (and finance department in general) to proactively maximize utilization of technology for automation of manual job duties, ensure that redundancies and/or inefficiencies are minimized, and drive additional process improvement.

As an Oracle CPQ Support Specialist, this person will be responsible for providing technical expertise, system support, and guidance in utilizing the Oracle CPQ product. This role is instrumental in ensuring that the pricing team maximizes the functionality and efficiency of Oracle CPQ to optimize pricing strategies and processes.

This person would be working reporting to the Sr. Director, acting as the Sales Solution Architect and will provide leadership and support in the development, enhancement, and maintenance of Pricing systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience:

  • Proven experience working with Oracle CPQ and a strong understanding of its pricing and configuration functionalities.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments.
  • Knowledge of pricing strategies and practices.
  • Strong understanding of sales and quoting process within a business context.
  • Working knowledge of CRM and ERP systems, especially those that integrate with Oracle CPQ.
  • Responsibilities:

  • Define Pricing Objectives:
  • Understand the pricing strategy and objectives of the organization.
  • Help to determine the key factors that influence pricing decisions.
  • Product Catalog Ownership:
  • Ensure that the product catalog within Oracle CPQ is complete and up-to-date.
  • Define product attributes and classifications that will be used in pricing rules.
  • Create Pricing Lists and Rules:
  • Define pricing lists and rules in Oracle CPQ including specifying conditions that trigger the application of pricing rules.
  • Technical Troubleshooting:
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to Oracle CPQ, such as system errors, configuration problems, and integration issues.
  • Work with Oracle Support to address system issues.
  • Rule Logic and Formulas:
  • Utilize Oracle CPQ's rule engine to implement pricing logic and formulas.
  • Update configurator models and rules to support business requirement changes.
  • Discount Structures:
  • Set up discount structures to determine how discounts are applied based on Epsilon's overall pricing strategy, including discount levels and thresholds.
  • Testing and Validation:
  • Thoroughly test the pricing rules to ensure they function as intended.
  • Validate pricing results against expected outcomes.
  • Documentation:
  • Document pricing rules, including conditions, logic, and formulae, for reference and future maintenance.
  • User Training:
  • Train relevant users, such as sales teams and the pricing team, on how to use Oracle CPQ in their daily functions.
  • Ongoing Monitoring and Maintenance:
  • Continuously monitor pricing performance and gather feedback.
  • Make adjustments and updates to pricing rules as business objectives and product offerings change.
  • Support Oracle CPQ quarterly updates to ensure system stability.
  • Compliance and Security:
  • Ensure that pricing rules adhere to regulatory compliance and data security standards.
  • Implement access controls to restrict who can modify pricing rules.
  • Reporting and Analytics:
  • Use Oracle CPQ's reporting and analytics capabilities to track pricing effectiveness, sales performance, and pricing strategy adherence.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of pricing rules to assess their effectiveness in achieving pricing objectives.
